ISLAND EXPLORER BIRDING TOURS

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands, an isolated archipelago in the Bay of Bengal, are a paradise for bird enthusiasts, home to approximately 390 bird species whose extraordinary diversity has been shaped by geographic isolation of these islands. This unique region is home to a remarkable array of bird species, many of which exist nowhere else on Earth. Spanning tropical rainforests, wetlands to coastal mangroves these diverse habitats shelter 29 rare and elusive endemic bird species, 21 found of which only in the Andaman group of Islands  and 8 exclusive to the Nicobar group of islands with few common between these two group of islands.

Adding to its significance, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands fall within the East-Asian Australasian Flyway, serving as a vital stopover for many migratory species. Seasonal visitors like waders, waterbirds, and raptors add to the ever-changing spectacle, creating a unique birdwatching experience where resident, endemics and migratory travelers coexist.
